Q.  Why do I need certification from the ATF?

A.  You don't need it if you don't want it. Were here for those that wish to seperate themselves from the world of sport TKD and the MacDojo / jang attitude that people have and want / need to announce that they teach a higher discipline.

Q.  Are there yearly dues or any hidden fee's?

A.  No. You join, receive your certification(s) or upgrades and that's it. When your promotion / time in grade becomes available, then you request an upgrade and those fee's are already stated.

Q.  What seperates the ATF from all those other organizations that are out there offering much the same thing?

A.  We are for TKD people primarily. We are filling a void for trained certified people who wish to have their real training recognized. Many TKD people are seeking to step out from under the stigma of the MacDojo or the Olympic sport mindset. Hopefully, we can be of assistance to these and other folks and it won't cost them and arm and a leg.

Q.  Will ATF certification be accepted by other's?

A.  We are the only American Tae-Kido organization certifying people. There are other Taekido organizations, but they are located outside of the U.S. and they have a Japanese arts background. So being the only one, our certification stands alone. Your current certifcation serves to assist in the foundation for acceptance for the ATF. Understand, we the ATF, are a new division within the world of the the KMA's. In addition, Tae-Kido has been recognized by the World Il Do Kwan Federation, which serves as the original parent organization. The WIF is an unbrella organization for the KMA's in general. The ATF is an adjunt, dealing with a specific new classification of a discipline.

Q.  Why can't I just apply to the WIF directly?

A.  You can go directly to the WIF if you wish, if you are looking for recognition for any of the existing Korean Arts.  Since Tae-Kido is a newly named venue, the only way to submit for that certification is thru the ATF. It's not that were trying to pan cake people here and force them to seek both. There's no need for both, unless you should desire them. If you should wish to apply for both, the combined fee's would be substantially lower than what most of you have paid for your present certifications. But we repeat, you don't have to apply for both.

Q.  Do I have to register my school or my students?

A.  No. We are for the individual martial artist, who has achieved Black Belt / Dan ranking.

Q.  I only have a rank certificate from my school / Instructor, not from an organization like the WTF, ITF, ATA, etc., Can I still be accepted?

A.  Yes you can. Over the years, many instructors have left the big organizations and their Korean instructors for various reasons. They either started their own organizations or just issued school / dojang certificates. We honor the integrity of the issuing authority.
